Paris, Constance Marie

Murdered: 1968-03-31

This victim’s story was sent to FOHVAMP by a friend of Connie”s from school days. This friend says, “It breaks my heart that her killer is still on the loose.”

It was March 31, 1968. Englewood High School senior, Connie Paris, had just turned 18. This vibrant, intelligent, attractive, kind, young girl was looking forward to her high school graduation in two months. Senior class English required a term paper with references from the Denver library, which had a vastly larger selection than Englewood could offer at the time. Connie worked on her term paper at The Denver Library, then rode the “0” bus South on Broadway to Englewood. In 1968, the “0” bus line terminated at Girard (3400 South) where she got off the bus that fateful night. Connie began to walk approximately 10 blocks South to her home.

Connie was unable to wear a cap and gown with the 1968 graduating class of Englewood High School. Her school books and some belongings were found dumped in Little Dry Creek behind the Army Navy Surplus store at 3524 So Broadway. Her body was found in a ditch in Southwest Denver along with trash and weeds. Connie had been disrobed, strangled and sexually assaulted.
